Three Isle of Wight council by-elections will take place on Thursday 1st May 2025.
The elections will be held in the Central Rural, Freshwater South and Lake North wards.
The seats were previously held by Suzie Ellis (Central Rural), John Medland (Freshwater South), and Tig Outlaw (Lake North).
OnTheWight has written to the office of Richard Quigley – the Labour MP for Isle of Wight West who confirmed in February that he intended to stand down from his Cowes North seat – to find out whether that’s still the case.
Deadline for standing as a candidate
Anyone wishing to stand in these by-elections must submit their nomination by 4pm on Wednesday 2nd April.
Nomination packs can be downloaded from the Isle of Wight council’s website.

The deadline to apply for a postal vote is 5pm on Monday 14th April.
Voters without suitable ID can apply for a free Voter Authority Certificate by 5pm on Wednesday 23rd April.
