An appeal for help from Island businesses has been launched by organisers of a charity ball planned for later in the year.
As you might have guessed from the title of the ball, ‘Knobs and Knockers’ hopes to raise cash and awareness for those affected by breast and testicular cancer.
We hear that a number of businesses have already shown their support by donating services and raffle prizes.
- Posh Frocks have donated dresses to the organisers
- Cowes Yacht Haven are helping with planning and publicity
- The Lonesome Valley Boys will playing for free
Organiser, Mary Hodder, said: “We’ve held this event twice before and managed to raise around £12,000 but we’re really upping the ante this year and we know that if local businesses get behind us we can raise even more for good causes. If anyone can help in whatever way they can we’d be so grateful.”
The ball will run from 7pm to 1am on Saturday, 9 October.
Tickets are £40 each and can be bought by calling Sandra or Mary on 07795 551536.
