Thanks to a heads up by Lil Nutter, we’ve just discovered that it’s National Hand Knitting Week.
It runs from 10th to 17th October, and to celebrate some lovely ladies up in Cowes would like to teach anyone without the skill, to knit or crochet for charity.
They’re going to be running a session tomorrow evening from 7pm at Jolliffes Cafe in Cowes.
Supporting BLISS
National Hand Knitting week supports BLISS, a charity that raises money for the care of babies that are born too small, too early or too ill.
This is something close to our hearts as some friend’s baby was delivered three months early last week.
If you’d like to go along and learn to knit or crochet, a donation of £2 which will go to BLISS, wool, needles or crochet hook and enthusiasm are all that you’ll need.
The cafe will also be serving tea, coffee and cakes to buy from Jolliffes, with 50% of the takings going to BLISS.
