It appears to anyone with any common sense, after Wednesday’s revelations, (Pugh’s London Lobby Secures Chicken Feed, and, IW council disappointed at final grant settlement) that Cllr Pugh is trying to further his own political career by glory hunting in Westminster while he sends his councillors to the slaughter with their electorate.
The Councillors seem to be pawns in Mr Pugh’s political game in which he uses them to his own ends. Meanwhile, the Island people are caught in the crossfire as they lose the services so dear to their hearts.
Mr Giles, Whippingham and Osborne, is on record after Saturday’s public meeting saying he will not commit to supporting his electorate, or abstaining in the vote on the budget on the 23rd.
Well, maybe it is time Mr Giles and his Tory colleagues realign their priorities and realise Mr Pugh is doing nothing to further their political careers.
The electorate quite simply will not vote these people back into power if they continue to forget why they are there, and who they are there to advocate for.
The wisest move they could make now is to stand together with members from the other parties on the budget vote, to support the electorate that put them in their position, and have the power to keep them there.
