Lateral Flow test kit on table

Letter: Why can’t we get Lateral Flow Tests delivered to Isle of Wight addresses?

News OnTheWight always welcomes a Letter to the Editor to share with our readers – unsurprisingly they don’t always reflect the views of this publication. If you have something you’d like to share, get in touch and of course, your considered comments are welcome below.

This open letter from Gary Clarke, Shanklin to Isle of Wight Conservative MP, Bob Seely. Ed

Can you please tell me where and when lateral flow tests will be available?

Cases are very high on the Island and every time that I try to order tests online, I am met with the following.

It appears that those privileged to live in Wales, Scotland and Ireland can collect them from outlets but we cannot.

How will those who have tested positive for Covid know when they are clear if not tests are available?

Where can my family obtain test packs please?

Note from editor: Islanders can order tests to collect from pharmacies by following this link. The Isle of Wight council Covid Officers will be handing out free boxes of Lateral Flow Tests today (Thursday) between 10am-3pm in St Thomas’s Square, Newport.

If you aren’t able to get there, they’ll be at Westridge Centre, Ryde on next Thursday (31st March).
