If you’re a fan of Billie Holiday or don’t know much about her and would love to hear more, we’d recommend heading over to Ryde tonight where Acoustics at the Altar present Essiquibo’s Strange Fruit performing the Life and Times of Billie Holiday.
This dramatic musical performance written by Helen MacDonald offers and interpretation of the life and music of Billie Holiday, capturing all the emotion of a musical icon through the fusion of song and the spoken word.
The event takes place at St John’s Church in Ryde and tickets are just £10 (or £8 concessions).
All proceeds go to the Park Centre charity, so do try and go along to help support this valuable Island charity.
