Some time ago a ‘friend’ gave me the David Gray White Ladder CD as a birthday present, I admit to listening to it a couple of times, but thankfully soon realised the error of my ways.
It was thrown out of the first floor window and still lurks somewhere in the flowerbeds below.
So, I had a little chuckle to myself when I heard today about a bloke from Newport has just been given an ASBO for playing David Gray records too loud.
The stereo blaster, who will remain nameless (check the County Press next week if you’re really bothered) was found guilty for blasting the same dire David Gray album out of his stereo into the early hours. God, I feel sorry for his neighbours.
The ASBO bans him from using stereo equipment capable of playing records, CDs or MP3s until 2009! It sounds pretty harsh … surely he can be rehabilitated to listen to decent music at a reasonable volume?
Magistrates also handed him an 18 month conditional discharge and ordered him to pay £150 in costs for the crime.
The ‘poor’ chap whined that losing his music collection was like losing a baby. I’m struggling to see the parallel (based on his choice of music, that is).
Question is, what’s he going to listen to in order to console himself?
