Members of the public are invited to take part in a singing workshop, and a concert entitled Live, Laugh, Love on Saturday 26th April at St Mary’s Church in Cowes.
The events are in aid of Cowes teenager Arlo Lambie, to raise funds for follow-up treatment of his grade 4 brain tumour which was diagnosed last year.
No previous singing experience required
The afternoon workshop (2pm to 5.30pm), led by the choir’s director, Hannah Brear, requires no previous singing experience and is open to all.
The choir’s evening concert will be an uplifting musical feast, including two songs which workshop attendees will perform with the choir. Music accompaniment is provided by
Jon Thorne (bassist from the band Lamb), drummer Chris Jones (from Plastic Mermaids) and pianist Chris Barker.
Brear:
Event organiser and musical director, Hannah Brear said,
“It’s almost impossible to imagine what Arlo and his family must be going through right now.
“The Island community has this amazing ability to come together and it’s a real privilege to be able to work with fellow musicians to create a special, memorable event that will benefit such a worthwhile cause.
“We’re all delighted to be able to help, whilst having fun and creating something beautiful in the process.”
