The Isle of Wight Festival saw its first wave of eager and excited campers flood through its gates on Thursday 15th June. This marked the beginning of a four-day celebration of music that’s set to echo across Seaclose Park.
The opening day was graced with a line-up that set an upbeat tone for the anticipated weekend.
Indie pop band Lottery Winners (pictured above), riding high from the release of their chart-topping album ‘Anxiety Replacement Therapy’ earlier this year, took the centre stage at the Big Top.
A musical line-up to resonate with all
The Scottish production duo, LF System, further fuelled the festival’s lively atmosphere well into the evening. Their chart-storming hit ‘Afraid to Feel’ was greeted with an exuberant reception from the enthused crowd.
This laid a firm foundation for electronic music pioneers Groove Armada to step into the limelight, serenading fans with a repertoire of their greatest hits such as ‘I See You Baby’ and ‘Superstylin’.
Yesterday also marked the reinstatement of stages including This Feeling, Electro Love, Hipshaker Lounge, and Kashmir Cafe. These venues were primed to prepare festival attendees for the melodious weekend that lies ahead, serving an eclectic mix of music and entertainment.
A harmonious weekend ahead
Cirque De La Quirk and Electric Ladyland’s Hunky Dory, well-known staples of Seaclose Park, also added to the evening’s entertainment, offering live music, quizzes, and cabaret that ran deep into the night.
The festival, set to unfold over the rest of the weekend, will see music aficionados treated to performances from an astounding 390 acts across 13 stages. Among the performers are headline acts Pulp, George Ezra, The Chemical Brothers, and Robbie Williams.
Star-studded Performances to Remember
In addition to these musical titans, fans can also look forward to performances from the likes of Courteeners, Sugababes, Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Anne-Marie, Niall Horan, and James Bay, among others.
This year’s festival, having sold out in advance, will play host to over 55,000 attendees. The vast site will come alive over the course of four days with an atmosphere brimming with anticipation, promising an unforgettable weekend filled with incredible performances and memories set to last a lifetime.
