We love celebrating talent here at OnTheWight, not just to showcase the great work of those in the creative arts industry, but also in the hope it might act as a trigger for others and inspire them to get creative.
18 year old Connor Woodman tells us that he’s been so inspired by some of the great Isle of Wight talent we’ve shared here, that he’s gone off and produced some work of his own.
And it’s certainly worthy of the same treatment that his contemporaries received.
Appreciating the beautiful landscape
Connor told OnTheWight,
“Seeing the amazing pictures and videos you post (for example the “Rare butterfly spotted on the Isle of Wight” with beautiful pictures by Mike Wilson and the stunning aerial footage from Seb Godsmark) always inspire me and make me appreciate the beautiful landscape in which we live.”
Connor has been out across the Island capturing what he believes are the most beautiful aspects of it. The think the results are great!
The techie stuff
For those interested in the geeky side of it, Connor said,
“I shot the whole video on a Canon 550d with a few different lenses (50mm, 70-200mm and an 11-16mm). For the smooth shots I used a Glidecam HD-2000, although the Glidecam does take a lot of getting used to, so some of the gliding shots are not 100%.”
With practice comes perfection Connor and we reckon you’ve made excellent start. Look forward to seeing more of your work over the coming years.
