MacNaughton-Howe Arts and Crafts Festival returns to Ventnor this week

Ventnor is fortunate to be home to the community inspired arts and crafts and performing arts festival for all ages, the MacNaughton-Howe Arts and Crafts Festival.

Taking place at St Catherine’s Church, expect to see a fantastic display of Arts and Crafts created by talented people from across the Island.

Peruse over 150 exhibits whilst listening to live music. There are also craft stalls, demonstrations and refreshments.

Help make poppies for Remembrance
If you’d like to join us to knit or crochet a poppy for the town’s Remembrance Day decorations we would be very grateful – pop along to see Steph or Catherine from Ventnor Town Council and we will provide the chat, yarn, needles and hooks!

Still time to enter
There’s still time to enter your art and craft creations: all entries need to be in by 6pm on Thursday 22nd October.

Details of the 64 ‘classes’ can be found on the MacNaughton-Howe Festival website.

From needlework to limericks
There is a wide range of categories including needlework, photography, art, jewellery making, painting, sculpture, collage, poetry and story writing.

There’s even a class for your own original Limerick – the only trouble is trying to write one suitable for a public audience!

Children are most welcome to enter the festival. There are no specific categories for children as they want to see their favourite arts and crafts work.

Opening times and admission
The Festival takes place at St Catherine’s Church on Friday 23rd October from 1pm to 5pm and on Saturday 24th October 2026 between 10am to 4pm.

There will be craft sales and refreshments on offer.

Admission is £1 for adults, whilst competitors and exhibitors are charged 50p. Children go free.

Parking is available in The Grove car park behind the church.
