A number of senior roles at Isle of Wight council are being scrapped as part of a new “transformation change” (ie. restructure) to cut costs.
At last week’s full council meeting, leader of the council, Cllr Lora Peacey Wilcox told members that the council was undergoing a “long overdue transformation change”.
She said,
“I am very aware this impacts staff and that saddens me deeply.
“I do not put the burden solely on staff thought, but also on our Cabinet members.”
Last week also saw a restructure of the Cabinet, dropping from 10 to 8 members, in the leader’s words, “to take responsibility for financial implications on board.”
More to follow.
