A popular Isle of Wight takeaway has got top marks in its latest food hygiene inspection, just months after it was served a one-star rating.
Sharing the good news, a spokesperson for The Kebab House in Newport said the business was visited by an environmental health inspector on Friday, 5th January 2024.
Former inspection
Isle of Wight council inspectors had previously visited the takeaway on St James’ Street, Newport in October and had given it just one-star, prompting the need for ‘major improvement’.
Reacting at the time, The Kebab House said it was confident it ran a clean, safe and efficient business, adding it was working with a food safety consultant to ensure its valued customers and staff were taken good care of.
Five-star rating
The takeaway has since complied with the notices and has made the changes necessary for a five-star ‘very good’ rating.
Support from Four Seasons Cookery Academy
It said it was ‘very happy’ with its top marks and thanked the Four Seasons Cookery Academy for its help.
