Passion, energy, theatre, style and wit, mapdance 2008 brings you an evening of diverse work by four renowned choreographers.
Following the successful first tour in 2007, the University of Chichester’s graduate performance company mapdance is back with new works by Liz Aggiss, Nik Haffner and Hanna Gillgren.
The company will also be showing Brittle Fiction by Kerry Nichols, the highlight of last year’s tour.
A nod at the past, a wink at the present, Don’t Put Your Daughter on the Stage, by Liz Aggiss is an almighty collusion and collision of past, present, archive, fact, fiction, truth and lies.
A Certain Trigger, by Nik Haffner, explores the simple terrain of one hand taking another hand, of one movement leading to the next.
Hanna Gillgren’s new work, ID Limited, combines intense physicality, theatricality and humour as the dancers journey through shifting state of identity.
Returning for the 2008 tour, Brittle Fiction by Kerry Nicholls is abrupt, frenetic and powerfully athletic, unhinging the dancers physical habits to reveal their fragility.
