We’re big fans of Guy Browning, so great to see him reference the Isle of Wight in his latest book, Maps of My Life.
In a review of the book by Jonathan Sale for The Independent, we’re exposed to the creative mind of Guy’s mother ….
The cartographical representation of the Isle of Wight derives from the “mental map” of his apprehensive mother, who took him there when he was 10; subconsciously, she placed the genteel island somewhere between the Indian Ocean and Tasman Sea and gave it features such as “Pam Ayres’ Rock”.
Anyone guess where Pam Ayres’ Rock might be?
