Readers of our discussion forum might remember several posts back in 2010/2011 relating to an alleged property scam perpetrated by Ventnor resident, Mark Leander Reeves.
Those who’d been using the forum to seek further information about Mr Reeves, will have been pleased to hear that he was jailed last week for three and a half years. The case was brought to court after he’d tricked eight Jersey Islanders out of a quarter of a million pounds in phoney property deals.
Jailed by Jersey’s Royal Court
The deception by Mr Reeves, also known as Marc MacIntosh, took place in France between 2002 and 2007.
He was jailed last week by Jersey’s Royal Court for six counts of fraud and one count of attempted fraud.
Due to the nature of the forum posts and allegations made about Mr Reeves back in 2010, it was necessary to moderate some of the posts to protect ourselves from threatened legal action.
