This in from the police, in their own words. Ed

Police are appealing for witnesses following an incident close to the Strawberry Fields at the Isle of Wight Festival on Friday, June 14.

Sometime between 9pm and 9.30pm a disagreement between two men and two women has ended up in a fight, which left a 30-year-old man with a broken bone in his hand. He was treated for the injury at St Mary’s Hospital.

Investigating Officer PC Angela Wood said:

“Reported crime at the Isle of Wight Festival was low this year. We believe that there were a lot of people around at the time – they may have witnessed the assault. We would appeal for them to come forward with any information as the nature of the attack left a man with serious injuries.”
