As mentioned in an OnTheWight feature from last September about Isle of Wight video production company ProCam4k, baking supremo Mary Berry, was filming in Ventnor last year for her latest TV series, Mary Berry’s Foolproof Cooking.
Tonight (Monday) sees the first episode of Mary Berry’s Foolproof Cooking screened on BBC2 and it’s the one featuring Ventnor fisherman, Ed Blake.
The blurb for the programme reads,
No matter how hard a dish may seem, Mary has a way to make it foolproof. In each episode, Mary shows fabulous recipes and technical tips to please the novice and the expert cook alike, as well as sharing some of her memories of her life, family and friends.
Mary also gets out and about visiting suppliers and producers all the way along, giving help and advice to the viewers, whether they are looking for dinner party suggestions or a quick weeknight dinner.
In the first programme, Mary visits Ventnor in the Isle of Wight where she meets lobster-fishing expert Ed Blake.
Ed shows her how to catch the nation’s favourite delicacy. She then returns to the kitchen to make an indulgent treat of lobster tails with aioli and asparagus.
Look out for footage shot by ProCam4k in the episode.
Tune in to BBC2 at 8.30pm or catch up on iPlayer afterwards.
