Master sculptural plaster techniques with artist India Allin at Quay Arts

Quay Arts are excited to announce a new short course learning how to make and carve Sculptural Plasterwork.

This will be the first time Quay Arts has offered the course which will be taught by India Allin, Lead Artist and Founder of new Island-based decorative arts studio ‘Studio Delma’.

Learn the skills and techniques
Get an exclusive insight into the sculptural plaster process and learn the skills and techniques needed to create a beautiful 3D plaster low-relief artwork from start to finish.

The course is held over four Saturday sessions from 17th February until 16th March, 10am to 2pm, and is perfect for beginners or those more experienced in the arts and crafts.

Skilled artist and craftsperson
India is a skilled artist and craftsperson and will guide participants as they design, carve, sand, detail and refine their artwork, offering tips and tricks to get it to create a beautiful finished artwork.

When the carving is finished, participants will be able to browse a selection of paints and experiment with colour.

Unique pieces of work
Whether you prefer a classic all-white style, or prefer a bolder choice such as a metallic finish, a bright shade, or a gentle wash of colour, participants will be able to make piece unique for themselves.

At the end of the course, participants will leave with a fully finished artwork and the skills and knowledge to continue working independently.

The course takes place on Saturdays 17th February, 2nd March, 9th March and 16th March 2024 from 10am – 2pm at Jubilee Stores, Newport Quay.

The cost is £160, which includes all materials.
