Saturday 23rd March and 17 riders turned out to contest the first Isle of Wight Cycling Time Trial of 2013, a ten miler on the Coleman’s course near Porchfield.
There was a biting ENE wind coupled with average temperature of just one Celsius that made for tough racing conditions.
A lot of people suffered with the cold and a strong headwind from Shalfleet Deli through to Vittlefields Cross sapped the strength of all but the fittest.
None of this phased …a3crg’s Matt Harris who opened the season with a win, in the fast time for the conditions of 23 minutes 39 seconds.
He was followed in second and third by the Wightlink/Offshore pair of Martin Piper and Sean Williams in 24:51 and 24:59 respectively.
