Medina Foodservice bought by American food service business

Isle of Wight business, Medina Foodservice, has announced that it’s been acquired by Sysco, the world’s leading foodservice business.

In the announcement, the company say,

“Over the course of the conversations with the team at Sysco, we have seen the passion that they have for the business and we are convinced that this is the right time to join forces with an organisation that can provide the backing that will help us on the next stage of a really exciting journey.”

The company goes on to say,

“Medina has become a part of Sysco’s Speciality Group, which has helped businesses like ours flourish with its local expertise and global resource.

“We have worked with many of our suppliers and customers for decades, and we would like to assure everyone that the great service that they have been accustomed to will remain exactly the same. It will also be the same team and Medina will continue to be run and operated independently, but now with Sysco’s added benefits and knowledge.”

‘Business as usual’
The company explain that over time, they’ll be able to supplement their extensive range with Sysco Speciality Group’s award-winning fresh products, as well as the technology and support to provide customers with an event better service.
