Some fantastic results in from the acting head at Medina High. Ed
The students at Medina High School have achieved the best ever results posting 73% A* to C, this is a 15% uplift from last year. Our headline figures are:
5 A* to C (242 of 333) 73%
5 A* to C inc ME (140 of 333) 42%
1 A* to G 100%
In addition 12% of students achieved one or more A*s, an increase of 6%, and 32% gained one or more A grades, a 20% increase on last year. Most notable was Bethany Bowen, who achieved 12 A*s overall 13 A*s, 1 A, 1 B and also 2 As at AS level.
In addition a number of students did remarkably well:
Jade Franklin: 8 A*, 4 As and 1 B
Charlie Stevens: 7 A*, 5 As and 1 B
Robert Seiger: 6 A* and 7 As
Annie Leonard: 5 A* and 6 As
Jake Green: 2 A*, 12 As and1 B
Jamie Murphy: 1 A* and 11 As
Sabrina Greening: 3 A*, 7 As and 4 Bs
Rhiannon Hawkins: 3 A*, 7 As and 2 Bs
Hannah Morris: 3 A*, 4 6 As and 3 Bs
Wira Wira Karo: 2 A*, 6 As and1 B
Michael Water: 7 As and 2 Bs

Biology 98% A* – C pass rate (up 2%)
Physics 96% A* – C pass rate (up 6%)
Chemistry 95% A* – C pass rate (up 16%)
Additional Maths 97.4% A* – C pass rate (22 A*/A grades)
Graphics 94% A – C pass rate (20 A*/A grades)
Geography 83% A* – C pass rate (29 A*/A Grades)
I am really impressed and delighted for the young people of Medina High School. I believe that these results are a measure of the systems that we have put in place to improve the outcomes for the students. It puts us in a strong position leading into the final year of Medina High School but it also provides us with a firm foundation to build the new school on.
