The 2023 Poppy Appeal was officially launched last weekend, marking the beginning of a period of remembrance and fundraising in the UK.
In line with this, the Medina Marching Band has announced its upcoming event, “Medina Marching Band Presents – A Festival of Remembrance 2023,” scheduled for Friday, 10th November at 7.30pm. This event will take place at Christ the King College.
An evening of tribute and entertainment
The Festival of Remembrance 2023 promises a night of solemn tributes and captivating entertainment. Among the featured performers are the Medina Marching Band, The Isle of Wight Highland Pipes and Drums, and singer Rosie Sales.
The event will also include a traditional Act of Remembrance, which will be followed by a Drum Head Service led by the Royal British Legion County Chaplain, Rev. Whatley.
Additionally, Standard Bearers from the Island’s Royal British Legion branches and representatives from various military and youth organisations will be in attendance.
Supporting the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal
Now in its third year, this event is expected to be a poignant and moving evening for attendees. Importantly, all proceeds from the Festival of Remembrance 2023 will be donated to the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal.
This generous contribution will help support veterans and their families, ensuring that the sacrifices made by those who served are never forgotten.
