Island children’s author M L Welsh will be at Ventnor Library this morning.
Melanie will be talking about her debut novel, Mistress Of The Storm.
It took Melanie four years to write the first book in a planned series, described by publisher as “a magical Swallows and Amazons”.
All of the books take place on a fictional island, which is based on The Isle of Wight. Indeed, it all centres on a town called Wellow, itself based on Ventnor – a place that Melanie said always had a special attraction for her while she was growing up in Cowes.
Melanie will be in the library from 10.30am and all are welcome to pop in to chat with the author and bring children along to listen to readings.
