Success story: From recruitment to cutting edge technology
Aaron, 33, was working in recruitment for festivals and catering events before joining MHI Vestas Offshore Wind. He didn’t have experience in wind turbines, but he had worked as a qualified mechanic. What really drew him to the job in the first place were the prospects and the opportunity to develop.
The Isle of Wight isn’t best known for its wages but the package on offer through the world’s most powerful production of wind turbine blades was attractive in itself.
Today, Aaron is a Group Lead managing two teams. On a day to day basis he ensures everyone has what they need to get the job done. In addition he works alongside the training and quality team, getting involved with the production elements.
His advice for anyone considering joining the team,
“If you want an exciting career and great job prospects and you’re willing to learn then this is the place to work.”
