Save The Military Road campaigners are urging Islanders to make sure they have their say on the future of Military Road on the south to west coast of the Isle of Wight.
A couple of weeks ago, the council’s public consultation was extended, giving residents until Midnight on Monday 6th September to have their say.
Many of you will have seen the consultation panels dotted around the Island and touring some of the summer shows. They provide detail about the history of the eroding coastline, challenges faced and options to be considered.
If you haven’t come across them yet, you can view them online by visiting the Isle of Wight council website.
Following the consultation, five options will be considered:
- Option 1 Protect the existing coastline
- Option 2 Construct a new section of road.
- Option 3 Maintain the existing road as long as possible.
- Option 4 Divert traffic inland via existing roads.
- Option 5 Construct a by-pass for Brook village.
Campaigners appeal for Option 2
Campaigners against the road closure are calling on Islanders to email Chris Wells ([email protected]) in support of Option 2.
You need to do this by Midnight on Monday 6th September (tomorrow).
