Last night saw the Minghella International Short Film Competition Awards Gala take place in the Isle of Wight’s ‘capital’, Newport.
Film-makers from around the world were packed into the venue to hear the judge’s decisions on who was best in category. Over 200 films had been entered into the competition and the short listed were entries were shown yesterday at Cineworld.
Robert Sheehan and Lauren Socha made the announcements and presented the awards, made by glassblower Paul Critichley.
Congratulations to everyone who took part, particularly those who were awarded prizes last night.
- Best Isle of Wight – Russell Oastler for The Last Resort
- Best Documentary – Bjorn Bratberg for Wood of Value
- Best Human Rights – Guclu Yaman for Jounrey of No Return – Last Stop Frankfurt Airport
- Best Drama – Melissa Osborne for Change
