Great news for Minghella and opera fans as the English National Opera revive his Olivier-award winning Madame Butterfly next month.
The revival is a tribute to the impact Anthony Minghella had on cultural life in the UK.
The story
Puccini’s beautiful music underscores the emotional tale of a Japanese geisha girl and her devoted love for a heartless American naval lieutenant.
With its sumptuous sets, stunning costumes and evocative use of Far Eastern theatre traditions, The Sunday Telegraph described it as ‘the most beautiful show of the year in operatic London’.
There will be 11 performances running from from 10 June 10th – 10 July.
Some performances start at 7:30pm but there are some which open at 6:30pm, on the following dates: June 20th -June 27th and July 4th.
