Players of People’s Postcode Lottery in Isle of Wight will win big at the weekend when this month’s Postcode Millions Draw comes to Landguard Manor on Saturday 27 February.

Missing People
National charity Missing People is one of the 63 charities supported by players of People’s Postcode Lottery and has received over £3.4 million from players since 2008.

This funding sustains the charity’s free, confidential and 24 hour helpline, 116 000, for those missing or considering going missing and their families left behind. The latest statistics from the National Crime Agency show 4,177 missing incidents reported to Hampshire Constabulary alone last year.

Supporting the Damien Nettles appeal
Thanks to players of People’s Postcode Lottery, Missing People is able to help families like the Nettles, whose son Damien disappeared from Cowes on 2 November 1996 after a night out.

Damien Nettles was just 16 years old when he went missing and he has not been heard from since. Nearly 20 years later, his disappearance will feature in the upcoming BBC Three programme ‘Unsolved: The boy who disappeared’.

Valerie Nettles, Damien’s mother, says

“Missing People is a huge help to families like mine who are living in limbo whilst waiting for news of their missing loved one. I’m grateful to players of People’s Postcode Lottery for helping to sustain Missing People’s helpline so families can access free emotional and practical support around the clock.”

A vital lifeline
Clare Cook, Head of Campaigns at Missing People, said

“We can’t thank players of People’s Postcode Lottery enough for their continued support, helping us be a lifeline to missing people and their families both here in the Isle of Wight and throughout the rest of the UK. They make a vital contribution to our cause and we are thrilled when they win life-changing sums of money.”
