Restaurant owners from Cowes, Helen and Mark Baldwin, were able to share some very special news this week when they heard that they’d been awarded Restaurant of the Year Award by Les Routiers.
‘Exceptional’
Fighting off stiff competition across the whole of the country, judges said that Mojac’s consistently demonstrated exceptional service, hospitality and quality of food throughout the year.
The journey to the award starts with nominations by members of the pubic to Les Routiers, leading to a visit by a secret diner, who carefully scrutinises all aspects during the unannounced visit.
“We’re over the moon”
OnTheWight spoke with Mark earlier today who told us, “We’ve over the moon – and can’t quite believe it. It’s great news for the whole team here. We’ve been working away for 13 years, trying to constantly improve. This is a great pay off for all of that hard work.”
Les Routiers UK & Ireland said, “This year has been so competitive! We’ve has such good feedback from the many fans of our nominees, together with outstanding performance by all, that is has made the judging process this year one of the toughest we’ve ever encountered.”
Well done
Well done to everyone at Mojac’s – who name is formed from Mark and Helen’s children’s names, Jack and Tom – and great to see the Island winning another award for great food.
