More than £1,000 raised for MAD-Aid charity at end of summer event

MAD-Aid End of Summer Event was a huge success raising money for Ukraine and Island charities.

Community spirit shone through the day which organisers decided go ahead with on Sunday 11th September at Smallbrook Stadium in Ryde, following the death of the Queen.

Humbled by the support of the local community, the event organisers even managed to find a trumpet player for a poignant two minute silence.

Such good community spirit
The Mad-Aid Events team said,

“Thank you to all those who made Mad-Aid End of Summer such a huge success. It was great that everyone showed such good community spirit in supporting all the charities involved, despite us being in national mourning.

“We came together in remembering Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, by holding a two minute silence, marked by Andrew Norman on the trumpet. We also had a table dedicated to the Queen with a book of condolence available to those who wished to express their feelings.”
