It’s that time of the week when we dive into the Flickr Group Pool (which has over 29,000 images) to choose our Flickr Group Picture of the Week.
Once again keen photographers across the Isle of Wight have been busy adding their latest work to the pool.
Quay Arts is one of our favourite places on the Isle of Wight and we’ve seen lots of late afternoon/evening shots of the venue, but this is the first early morning one.
Damian Haworth captured the glorious morning sun on the red bricks of the building and shared it in our Flickr Pool. He said
“Most mornings I cycle past here on my way into work, and throughout the summer, my eyes are drawn to all of the different colours in the brickwork, as the sun is low in the sky, lighting it up and really pulling a lot of colours out.
“I wanted to try and capture this, and thought HDR [a post production process] would probably be the way to go, I love the way the bridge of Medina Way casts a shadow changing the colour of the brickwork, and mortar joints.”
It doesn’t immediately look like an HDR photo, which is probably why we like it so much.
