Mountbatten Isle of Wight’s charity film nominated for prestigious Smiley Awards

A film promoting the work of local charity, Mountbatten Isle of Wight, has been shortlisted to win a prestigious award.

The Smiley Charity Film awards – dubbed the Oscars of charity film – is the world’s biggest campaign to promote cause-based films.

Made with NOSY Creative Agency, the film, ‘Anyone, Anywhere. Any time’, is up for the People’s Choice award – subject to a public vote – and is shortlisted in the long-form category for organisations with a turnover of £5-20 million.

Hartley: A real coup for Mountbatten’s team
Mountbatten Chief Executive, Nigel Hartley, said,

“Being selected to be a finalist is a real coup for Mountbatten’s team, showcasing our work on an international stage.

“‘Anyone. Anywhere. Any time’ shows us working in partnership with our sister hospice, Mountbatten Hampshire, to reach and care for more people than ever across Southampton, large parts of Hampshire, and the Island.”

Tough competition
The film is up against national charities, including Greenpeace UK, Teenage Cancer Trust, Solace Woman’s Aid, and other causes.

A panel of high-profile and influential people from the worlds of fundraising, politics, business, entertainment and media will judge the long-form category and decide on a winner.

Vote today
Voting for the People’s Choice award is open until Friday, 10th March via mountbatten.org.uk/vote-for-us

Nigel encouraged people to get behind their local hospice and vote.

“By voting and sharing, more people will see the work we do to care for patients and families and be inspired to support us.

“Mountbatten is facing a huge increase in the need for our services and, like many people, a significant rise in our costs.

“Opportunities like this help share our message far and wide – more people need our help than ever before, and we cannot afford to ignore anyone.

“Please vote for our film and continue supporting Mountbatten in any way you can so we will still be here for you and your loved ones when you need us. Thank you.”

The winners will be announced at a red-carpet ceremony at the iconic ODEON Luxe cinema in Leicester Square, London, on 21st March.
