If you were at Old Gaffers back in May and saw the preview of the forthcoming My Girl production by the Ventnor Theatre Group, we expect you’ll have already bought your tickets for the show which starts tomorrow.
The audience were wowed by the songs, costumes and choreography at the preview for this brand new original musical written specifically for the Ventnor Theatre Group.
Ventnor, Ventnor, Ventnor!
The production has not only been written for the Ventnor Theatre Group and is being performed in Ventnor (at the Winter Gardens) but, is also a story about Ventnor.
The story follows the lives and loves of folk involved in an old run down theatre called “The Gaiety” on Ventnor Esplanade.
Although the characters are all fictional, the location is real and still exists today and is now known as the Gaiety Amusements. If you look up over the roof tops, you can still see the dome of the old theatre.
The show will feature live performances of songs from the 1960’s, such as The Beatles, Aretha Franklin, Elvis and The Beach Boys and promises to be a great night out on the Wight.
The first batch of shows start this weekend and are repeated at the end of August.
Call the Winter Gardens box office between noon and 2pm to book your tickets on 01983 857581. Don’t forget to say where you heard about it.
