The General Secretary of the National Union of Teachers (NUT), Christine Blower, will be on the Island on Tuesday 16th October.
She will be visiting schools across the Island to speak with NUT members on a number of issues including teaching reading, assessment, Free Schools and Academies.
Of particular interest will be how teachers are negotiating the big changes brought in by the reorganisation of schools on the Isle of Wight and teachers’ reaction to the possible formation of a Free School in the South Wight area.
She will be welcomed to the Isle of Wight this evening (Monday) with a dinner reception in Ryde.
