Harwoods of Yarmouth and English Braids have teamed up to open the temporary store inside part of the hospice’s Cowes High Street shop, on the corner of the entrance to Cowes Yacht Haven.
Open from 8am to 8pm, between Thursday 4 and Saturday 13 August, 10% of all sales will go directly to Earl Mountbatten Hospice.
In addition, limited edition hospice branded fenders and rope bracelets will be on sale, and any extra donations in the yellow rope reel on display will be most appreciated.
Danny Arthur, of Yarmouth-based Harwoods, said:
“We’ve been working with English Braids since 1972 helping to develop ropes for the sailing market. In fact, we were their first ever marine rope customer!
“Both companies wanted to do something together to raise money for our Island hospice, so we’re delighted to launch our pop-up shop which will be selling a variety of rigging, ropes and offering advice as well. And thanks to our bright yellow fenders, we’ll also be helping to raise as much awareness as possible of the hospice’s work among the international sailing community.”
Nigel Hartley, Chief Executive at Earl Mountbatten Hospice, said:
“Our Cowes shop is one of ten across the Island offering a wide range of items for sale, and they generate significant income to help us continue caring for the last years of life.
“We’re really pleased to partner with these two marine businesses, and we’re very grateful for their support in helping us to reach potential new customers.”
