We heard from a VB reader today that when Wightlink change their catamaran timetable in the New Year, the last catamaran leaving from Portsmouth will be 22.15 instead of 00.15.
This would obviously have an impact on all those who like to pop over to Portsmouth for a night out or who work in the City and perhaps do late shifts.
We got in touch with Wightlink to see if there is any substance to the rumour.
Reviewing off-peak Saturday nights
They replied, “In answer to your question, the evening/night timetable on the Portsmouth-Ryde route will pretty much remain the same as 2011, however we are in the process of reviewing Saturday nights during the off peak period and these should be confirmed in the next few weeks.”
We’re sure that you’d all like to share your views on the possible changes to the timetable, but please can we not have this turn into a Wightlink-bashing exercise.
