Male Choir:

Newchurch Male Voice Choir sing at Godshill

Thanks to Barry from Newchurch Male Voice Choir for details of this fundraising concert. Ed

On Wednesday evening of 14th May at 7.30pm Newchurch Male Voice Choir will be in concert at Godshill All Saints’ church.

A retiring collection will be made with the proceeds going toward church reparations. This will be the very first time the choir has been asked to perform at All Saints’ and we thank the Revd John Ryder for the invitation.

The church is noted for its medieval wall painting of a Lily crucifix one of only two in Europe. The Lily painting was whitewashed out to save it from destruction during the Reformation and remained hidden until the 19th century. The church also has a stained glass
window by William Morris.

Among the songs in our programme will be; Sailing; Amen (this little light of mine) both new for this season and I Dreamed A Dream. Teresa Wilkie will be our soprano soloist.

Conducting the concert will be Roy Bevan and Howard Wilkie with Jenny Riddell as accompanist.
