Newchuirch Male Voice Choir ready to sign in Church

Newchurch Male Voice Choir supports Museum of Ryde with charity concert

On Sunday 3rd November at 3pm at the Garfield Road Methodist Church, Ryde, the Newchurch Male Voice Choir will be presenting a concert that brings to the fore three of their main aims, bringing Male Voice singing to the public, supporting a local cause, and giving young Island talent a platform to perform in public.

‘The Holy City’ by Michael Maybrick
This Sunday afternoon concert will contain the Choir bringing the harmonies of a male voice choir, with a solo by Richard Knowles singing ‘The Holy City’, a Victorian ballad with the music written by Michael Maybrick, who was five-times Mayor of Ryde.

We will also be raising very much needed funds for the Museum of Ryde, a cause that receives no public funding and relies on visitors to the Museum, public donations and volunteers to keep it open.

Guest artiste
Our guest artiste is 13-year-old Will Kent. He attended the Island Free School in Ventnor and has been singing since he was five-years-old.

Having attended Theartretrain in Ryde and Spotlight in Shanklin he has been in several shows at Shanklin and Medina Theatres. He now attends Platform One College in Newport and has won a place to perform, as a soloist, singing ‘Walking in the Air’ at The Lighthouse Theatre in Poole in December.

Entry is free with a retiring collection.
