The Isle of Wight NHS Trust has announced that it has taken the difficult decision to postpone its Summer Fete, planned for this Saturday 23rd July, due to the ongoing due to the potential fire risk caused by the recent heatwave.
Extremely dry ground
The ground is extremely dry at St Mary’s Hospital and holding this type of event poses a significant fire hazard.
The Trust has said that they are aware that this is not welcome news and that members of the public and staff alike will be disappointed and have thanked those who were involved and apologised to anyone who may be inconvenienced by their decision.

The Trust would also like to thank all of its staff for continuing to provide high quality care and working incredibly hard despite the challenging conditions with the heat and demand on our services.
