The Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET) are hosting a meeting in Newport tonight with a talk by Stuart Grant, a Chartered Civil Engineer.
As you may remember, in January 2010 Eneco, an integrated energy company, was awarded the exclusive right to develop the ‘Zone 7’ offshore wind park by The Crown Estate off the coast of the Isle of Wight.
Stuart will be concentrating on the Engineering and Technology challenges of the recently announced Offshore Wind Park, whilst providing an introduction to the national context, and covering key project areas relevant to the local perspective.
With an estimated minimum potential capacity of 900MW, this project is located off the Dorset and Hampshire coast and to the west of the Isle of Wight.
The meeting (free entrance) is 7pm for a 7.30pm start and takes place at Quay Arts.
Non members are welcome to attend, but registration is advised.
