As indicated by an OnTheWight reader earlier in the week, Medina and Carisbrooke Colleges are both the subject of Ofsted inspections this week.
Carisbrooke College last underwent an Ofsted inspection in November 2008 when it was Carisbrooke High School. It received a rating of ‘Good’ for overall effectiveness.
Medina College received a rating of ‘Satisfactory’ for overall effectiveness when it was inspected back in February 2010 as Medina High School.
Other recent inspections
The inspections follow hot on the heels of Sandown Bay Academy and Cowes Enterprise College, both of which received ratings of ‘Inadequate’ earlier this year and placed in Special Measures.
The official outcome of the inspections won’t be known publicly for at least 25 working days, although we understand that the head teacher and chair of Governors could decide to share the outcomes earlier if they wished.
Best of luck to all at both schools, who we expect will be keen to retain or improve their previous ratings.
