Just popped back from the One Big Gig and recommend that if you haven’t got plans for later that you get down to Smallbrook Stadium.
The quality of the bands has been excellent (Cosy Flashback played a great set) and this evening plays host to Sentenced to Rebirth (sounds a bit scary but I’m sure they’re lovely), Plushy Edwards, Bastila, Finger Monster and Preacher Joe, as well as DJs Omar and Fallout playing in between sets.
Kids are welcome and well catered for with a free bouncy castle and loads of outdoor games. There’s even a tipi for young (that means little kids) budding musicians. Face painting, braiding and henna tattoos for a small fee will keep your little’un happy.
On the food front, Veggies are well sorted with Oli’s catering truck, serving falafels, veggie burgers etc as well as lots of luscious cakes and hot chocolate and great conversation when he’s not cooking.
There’s a cocktail tent and all other booze available from the clubhouse if you fancy a drink. If you can’t make it tonight, then be sure you get down there tomorrow, the lineup of local talent is superb and excellent value for money, starting at noon and finishing at midnight.
There’s also some clothes and jewellery stalls so bring your cheque books or a bit of extra cash.
Sandie and Charlene have gone to great lengths to think of everything for this mini festival, so show your support and make the trip to Smallbrook.
See you down there! (If you plan to go tonight wrap up warm and bring a blanket to sit on)
They’ve had lots of competition from other things happening around the Island today, so show your support and make sure you’re there on Sunday.
