Kyle, who was doing his work experience with VB last week, is involved with Operation Wallacea. Read on to find out more about it. Ed
Sandown High School 6th Formers (including myself) are taking part in an expedition to South Africa to work for a charity in animal and biological conservation this summer and are looking for sponsors to help support in the funding of the expedition.
Â
We’ve already raised a substantial amount* towards our total of £58,000 by doing fundraising events and getting parental contributions.
We’re now looking to obtain sponsorship/donations from companies and organisations to support the expedition and the conservation work we’ll be undertaking.Â
Your business can support the young people
Through sponsors, we hope to receive printed polo shirts, with the names of organisations and companies on who have supported us.
This would be an opportunity to promote and advertise your company, as well as allow Island children to gain a wide range of experiences from our charity expedition.
Other unique fundraising
We also have individuals raising money in a more unique way, such as using their talents as a means of raising the money needed.
Myself, as a Close up Magician, have setup a page on my promotional Website which enables people to donate money if they enjoy my services, all of which goes to Operation Wallacea.
We’ve also had students organising concerts, talent shows, a ladies pampering night, a 24hr dance, carol singing in supermarkets, car washes and even bag packing.
Get involved
If you’re interested in becoming a sponsor for the group, or are aware of any ways the group/individuals can get involved with events coming up, you can get in contact with the leader of the group – Tony Howsam via:Â [email protected]
