An unconfirmed report has reached us of a rather strange occurrence this morning on Ryde beach.
A man – described as a local dignitary by our anonymous caller – was seen at the water’s edge, glaring at the waves and pointing out to sea.
“Go back!” he was apparently shouting. “Don’t you know who I am? Do as you’re told when I tell you!”
Soon after the man was led away by friends – who declined to confirm his identity but claimed the stress of high responsibility as the reason.
