The Phoenix Choir ‘closed the door’ on their 2023 season of concerts on Saturday 30th September by performing to raise funds for much needed new Coach House doors at St George’s Church in Arreton.
Thankfully the weather was a lot better than the last time they sang at St George’s in 2018 when they were accompanied by thunder and lightning.
The appreciative audience enjoyed a wide variety of songs which included “Circle Of Life”, “My Heart Will Go On”, “Cheek to Cheek” and “Bridge Over Troubled Water”.
Solo support
The soloists were Sandra Aldridge with “Hopelessly Devoted To You”, John Normanton with “Mansions Of The Lord”, Paul Stevens with “An American Trilogy”, Ian Attrill with “I Can’t Stop Loving You” and Elizabeth Habens with “One Fine Day”.
More than £65,000 raised for good causes
The evening raised a total of £584 and they have now generated over £65,000 for local charities and good causes.
They would like to thank all those who have supported them this year.
