A planning application to demolish the former Rivoli Cinema in Sandown and develop the site has been submitted to the Isle of Wight council.
The plans include the construction of five two-bedroomed dwellings; one semi-detatched and a terrace of three homes.

Residents have until the 21st August to submit their comments on the application. This can be one through the council’s planning Website.
Save the Rivoli
A campaign to save the vintage cinema in Sandown was spearheaded by founder of the Isle of Wight Film Festival, Bruce Webb in October 2013.
Sadly, although the campaign attracted great support from Islanders and visitors, it was unable to raise enough cash to convince the owner to sell.
