Police appeal for identity of motorist

Police are seeking to identify a motorist after an incident between a car and a pedestrian at Moa Place Car Park, Freshwater on the Isle of Wight.

A 66-year-old man was left with minor injuries after he was knocked down by a car entering the car park at around 7.50pm on Sunday, December 16.

It was raining heavily at the time and the driver stopped and helped the man into his car and drove him back to his home address, but did not leave his name or contact details.

The driver was described as a well spoken man in his late 40s to early 50s, clean shaven with a round face, wearing glasses and a striped top.

The car was described as a dark blue, new style 4 door saloon.

Investigating officer PC Craig Robins said: “We would like to talk to the driver to help assist us with our enquiries into this matter. If this is you or you know the identity of the man please come forward and contact the police.”
