Thanks to VB reader Luke C for letting us know about this Police car collision in Newport.
At around 10am this morning, an Isle of Wight police patrol car collided with a Vauxhall Corsa at the junction of St James’ Street and High Street.
It’s unclear what led to the collision or whether anyone has been injured.
We’ve been in touch with Police to find out more and will update once we hear back.
Police have been in touch with the following confirmation
The collision involved a marked Hampshire Constabulary vehicle carrying two police officers, and a car driven by a member of the public.
No injuries were reported in the collision, which caused Newport High Street to be partially blocked. Both vehicles were removed from the scene before 10.30am this morning.
The officers in the marked police car were responding to an emergency call at the time of the collision.
