If you happen to notice a lot of police activity in the port of Southampton, don’t worry.
Police are in the middle of an exercise to test their plans for responding to a major incident.
They say it’s a routine exercise and there is nothing to worry about.
For those concerned the exercise is taking policing away from normal activities, Hampshire Constabulary say that normal policing duties in the area will continue, so you should not experience any difference in their response if needed.
